Kia brings an Outback Pub to the 2026 Australian Open

Step inside Hotel Tasman and discover how the Kia Tasman tackled Beer O’Clock Hill without ever leaving Melbourne. At the Australian Open 2026, fans got to experience the Tasman ute in a completely new way through a virtual reality simulation, bringing the excitement of off-road driving right into the city.

As part of Kia Australia‘s wider AO partnership, the activation extended the brand beyond the tournament gates. Fans could try the VR experience, explore the vehicle up close and capture the moment, turning a technical showcase into a memorable, interactive experience.

Brought to life by Bastion, the set design cleverly transformed modular Groblox structures into a lifelike Australian bush pub, creating an immersive environment that felt authentic. The Hotel Tasman tied directly into Kia’s Tasman campaigns, taking the storytelling from screen to live space while showing how Kia is redefining adventure, blending technology, performance and design to make off-road exploration accessible to everyone.
